The Spur-winged Lapwing is breeds in Greece, Turkey, eastern Mediterranean and in a broad band from sub-Saharan west Africa to Arabia. The sexes look similar and they have a spur (small claw) on each wing.

Diet is insects and other invertebrates picked from the ground.
