The Western Bluebird is found west of the Rockies and into Mexico. Their brilliant blue plumage makes them easy to spot. They prefer semi-open country and nest in cavities or nest boxes. Once I was lucky and had a pair visiting a tree in my front lawn.

During the summer they mainly eat insect and in winter they mostly eat fruit and seeds and some insects.
