The Great Curassow is a large pheasant-like bird that is found from eastern Mexico, through Central America to western Colombia and northwestern Ecuador. The male and female are dimorphic. The male is mostly black with a white belly, a curly crest and a yellow knob on its bill. The female are mostly reddish brown and a barred tail. Diet is mostly fruits with some vegetable matter, seeds and arthropods.
