Gray Lodge Wildlife Area is situated in Butte County and is near Gridley, CA. It is a neat place. It combines the auto tour route like the Sacramento Wildlife Refuge but you can get out of your car more and walk around. They are even some trails. There are also bird blinds that one can use. On the negative side, it can be noisy during hunting season.
It is a little more difficult to get to than the Sacramento Wildlife Refuge, but it is worth it.
