Forster's Tern - Sterna forsteri
|Chicks at birth||
|IUCN Conservation Status||
The Forster's Tern breeds in North America and winters south to the Caribbean and northern South America. In their breeding plumage they have a black cap which becomes more of an thick eye-ring after breeding season. One of my favorite sites is seeing them hovering over the Bay and then diving in to catch a fish.
