The first time I saw a Pyrrhuloxia I thought it was a female Northern Cardinal. Though somewhat similar, Pyrrhuloxia have more brownish feathers (both males and females) and the bill is yellow in adults. They inhabit the North American southwest and Mexico. They mainly eat seeds, fruits and insects.
