The Australian Shoveler, also called Australasian Shoveler, is a dabbling duck that is found in Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand. It had the previous scientific name of Anas rhynchotis. The sexes are dimorphic.

Diet includes aquatic invertebrates, seeds and aquatic plants. Besides 'dabbling' they also filter feed.
