Shimada Friendship Park

Shimada Friendship Park

Shimada Friendship Park is located near a marina. What I labeled as Shimada park, is just one of the parks located next to each other. To the west is Barbara and Jay Vincent park, the north has the marina and the great Rosie the Riveter WWII memorial, and the the east has the Bay trail (including some marsh). All have beautiful views of the San Francisco Bay. Don't miss the Rosie the Riveter Memorial (Richmond did a fantastic job of giving you a sense of that time).

The parks are clean and well-kept. It can get quite windy at the various parks, so be prepared.

I have seen all kinds of shorebirds, some ducks, a few passerines and raptors there. I also have seen Clapper Rails but they are harder to find then at Martin Luther King Park in Oakland.
