Rio Grande Nature Center

Rio Grande Nature Center

The Rio Grande Nature Center is in Albuquerque, New Mexico. If you visit Albuquerque, it is a good place to visit for some birding. When I was there in late October, the trees were turning and I saw a lot of birds. Some included, White-breasted Nuthatch, White-crowned Sparrow, Mountain and Black-capped Chickadee, Ring-necked Duck, and Greater Roadrunner (my favorite). The next spring I also saw Ring-necked Pheasant, American Kestrel, Sandhill Cranes and Eurasian Collared Doves. I was really hoping for some more pictures of Greater Roadrunners but only saw one briefly.

A good place for birding is around the various feeders. After visiting there, you are close to the museums and old town.
