Red-tailed Hawks are found in North America and seem to be the most plentiful hawk in the S.F. Bay Area. They are easily identified in flight by the dark mark on the leading edge of their wings.

Males & females are similar. Their diet is mice, rabbits, hares, medium sized birds, lizards, and snakes.
