The Northern Ground-hornbill is also known as the Abyssinian Ground-hornbill. There are two species of Ground-hornbills, the other is the Southern Ground Hornbill. Northern Ground-hornbill males have red throat pouches, the females blue. Their long lashes are useful for keeping blowing sand out of their eyes in Africa.
