The Senegal Coucal is a member of the cuckoo order of birds. They are found throughout most of Africa. They look very similar to the Coopery-tailed Coucal but Senegal Coucals can have the buffy underparts. Sexes look alike but the female is slightly larger.

Diet includes insects, frogs, small rodents, reptiles, birds, bird eggs and nestlings, snails.
