The Pelagic Cormorant is also known as the Baird's Cormorant. They are primarily found on the coasts of Siberia, China, Japan, Alaska, and Canada. While not as common as the Double-crested Cormorant, you can see them in the San Francisco Bay Area. For a couple of years, one nested at the breakwater at Cesar Chavez Park in Berkeley, CA. Like the Brandt's Cormorant they are a West Coast bird.

Pelagic Cormorant's can dive as deep as 100 feet to feed on the sea bottom.
